For anyone browsing Netflix for a quick and quirky flick fix… imagine John Turturro and Woody Allen. In Brooklyn. In a Turturro-written and directed film called “Fading Gigolo”
A bizarre and interesting film whereby a financially failing former bookstore owner Allen ends up pimping Turturro, a tango savvy florist. It’s written as a comedy – with a terrific soundtrack and lovely choreography. Watch it for Turturro’s orange shoes, if nothing else.
Another Tidbit – if you’ve got access to John Oliver’s This Week Last Night (or whichever it is) His piece involving salmon WILL make you laugh.
