Hip(?) Hypocrisy

The “Hippies” were a peculiar segment of a peculiarly bi-polar generation born in a blitz of either hope or despair following World War II.
The spawn of the good life were raised to be brats of privilege. Privilege was winning . No wonder the offspring of Aquarius, while canonizing their grandiose and principled pipedreaming notions of ‘commitment’ and ‘responsibility’, they are the most personally uncommitted, irresponsible, generation in the history of the nation.
Their marriages ended on whim and their loyalties ended at the edge of their egos. They claimed fervent belief in an inviolable human right to respect, but were harsh and judgemental and condescending.
Nor did we even come close to protecting the planet – the mother earth natures so many of us wanted to nurture.
We preached civil rights and equality; we lived civil wrongs of societal apartheid
